The Chino Valley Fire District was established on September 28,
1961 by a group of 33 people using funds collected by potlucks,
dances and other activities. The CVFD became official in October
of 1961 with an elected Fire Chief and an appointed Secretary
and Treasurer.
Today the CVFD has grown to include 24 full time suppression personnel,
5 administrative personnel including the Fire Chief, Fire Marshall
and Operations Chief, and 15 Reserve Fire Fighters. The CVFD is
governed by a board of 5 elected members that serve 4 year terms.
CVFD currently staffs 3 stations around the clock, Stations
61and Station 62 located in Chino Valley and Station 63 located
in Paulden.
The District covers an area that is approximately 100 square miles
with a population of more than 15,000. In the year 2003, CVFD
personnel responded to a more than 1800 Medical, Fire, and other
incident calls.
